Though a post office has been operational in St. Michael since 1858, the settlement was unincorporated until 1890. The community began as an agricultural center, and grew around the Church of St. Michael – a Catholic church that still stands today. Now, St. Michael is home to just over 16,000 residents as well as a bustling economy and strong school system.
